Jill Goranson

Jill Goranson is a Vancouver-based artist, producer, & educator of Métis, Swedish, and Austrian descent, originally from Red Deer, Alberta. As a 2019 graduate of Sheridan College’s Bachelor of Musical Theatre program, Jill received the Triple Threat Award and has since worked across Canada. Jill’s work spans producing (Art Pop-Up), improvised comedy (Vancouver International Improv Festival & Blind Tiger Comedy), and creating original shows at Toronto & Vancouver Fringe Festival. As an educator, Jill has founded a dance camp, ran musical theatre intensives, developed community programs, taught private music lessons over the last decade and most recently co-created/co-facilitated a new set of workshops called: Land, Body, & Spirit with Ceanna Wood.

During the festival, Jill will co-lead a one-hour workshop called Accessing Language Through Blood Memory. Exploring voice, body, and imagination through sound, movement, and writing practices, Jill and Ceanna Wood will lead participants through practices that explore the natural world, the sounds that exist within it, and the knowledge stored in our bodies, all to activate your blood memory. Participants are invited to write, move, and use their voice to whatever level feels comfortable for them.

Jill and Ceanna will also guide participants in creating their own Gratitude Bundles during the festival—a practice designed to help you connect with the natural world and reflect on what you are grateful for. Find Jill and Ceanna at the Wellness Table throughout the weekend to receive instructions and materials to make your bundle.
